THE 2017 FUTURE DREAM HOME COMBINES STUNNING DESIGN WITH AN ECO-FRIENDLY CONCEPT, ACCENTUATED BY THE BEAUTY OF TRESPA PURA NFC®.
The Future Dream Home was a 2,700 sq ft home built in just 9 days for the 2017
National Home Show in Toronto, Canada. With a focus on sustainable technology
and modern design, it featured a collection of carefully selected materials, including Trespa Pura NFC® exterior siding and Trespa® Meteon® panels. The fully assembled home, which included complete furnishings, landscaping and a Zen garden, was available for the public to tour for the duration of the show. The Future Dream Home modelled the evolved living space, where architecture and nature connect. After the show, the house was deconstructed and relocated to the homeowner’s property in Toronto. The home is scheduled for construction for the fall of 2017.
THE CONCEPT
A true Canadian home must withstand extreme temperatures between seasons.
The design focused on innovative products and sustainable materials for years to come, including Trespa Pura NFC® siding and Trespa® Meteon® panels. Trespa® is easy to maintain, durable, easily installed, which helped the construction of the house to meet a tight deadline. The high-end wood appearance of the Romantic Walnut, combined with the Diffuse or Matte Lumen panels, added a warm and natural contemporary feel to the overall design.
ENERGY EFFICIENT
The goal of the builder Probuilt Design + Build was to beat the current Ontario
Building Code energy efficiency rating by 50%. One of the factors that contribute
to reduced energy costs are the ventilated façades clad with panels and sidings.
Based on rainscreen principles, they allow air to flow in between the panels and the exterior walls.

DURABLE
Daily resistance to wear and tear and minimal maintenance were some of the
prerequisites for the homeowner’s family. Trespa® is highly impact and scratch resistant, and is easily cleaned with soap and water. Additionally, the Electron Beam Curing (EBC) technology results in UV resistance, which preserves the colour for many years without fading, eliminating the need to repaint or restain year over year. These features ensure that the home’s exterior will look just as vibrant today as it will in the future.
SUSTAINABLE
Trespa® adds a beautiful, natural feel to the Future Dream Home. It is PEFC and
FSC certified, containing up to 70% of WALNUT natural fibres. The PEFC and FSC certifications encourage forest sustainability, the preservation of the ecosystem and biodiversity, as well as fair labour conditions. Having Trespa® in your project helps you to qualify for LEED certification developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
EASILY INSTALLED
For any project with a pressing deadline, time is of the essence. Trespa Pura NFC® is easily handled and is available as pre-cut planks, minimizing installation time and costs. This allowed the siding to be properly installed with minimal resources in just a few days, helping to meet the builder's timeline.
